The Rat Fanciers Society
held its first show on Saturday, July 5th, 1997.
People came from all over Melbourne,
some to enter their
rats in events and some just to see what happens at a
rat show.
Since then, we have begun
showing our Fancy Rats at many Agricultural Society
shows and pet expo's
around the Melbourne area.
We have classes for all sorts of rats, according to
their colour and pattern. There are also different
classes
for novices when people are happy to have them.
We've come a long way from small private meetings in
friends'
garages, but our shows and gatherings remain
friendly, sociable and a great time to meet other rat
and
mouse enthusiasts, catch up with friends and see
lots of beautiful rats and mice.
